This programme provides an in-depth understanding of the planning and delivery of policy responses to global health concerns and issues. It focuses on approaches to effective policy-making which contribute to the protection and promotion of population health in a globalising world, at both national and transnational levels.

The programme will provide you with a solid foundation in the approaches to and practices related to global health policy, as well as an understanding of the institutional structures and governance mechanisms that address global health issues.

  • PG Certificate: 4 core modules
  • PG Diploma: 8 modules (4 core + 4 elective modules)
  • MSc: 12 modules (4 core + 8 elective modules) or 9 modules (4 core + 5 elective modules) + a project report

Entry requirements

A first or second class honours degree or equivalent, from a university or other institution acceptable to the University of London in:

  • Either a scientific subject (e.g. biology, medicine, nursing or pharmacy);
  • Or a social science subject such as anthropology, demography, development studies, economics, environmental studies, human rights, geography, international politics, international relations, law, sociology, policy studies, politics, political science or water and sanitation


English Language Requirements
As part of the application process, applicants are required to demonstrate how they meet LSHTM/University of London’s minimum English Language requirements.
